About me
Nivedita Mehra leads USISPF in India and was part of the three-member leadership team that founded the organization in 2017: a non-profit bilateral independent organization that works with US companies investing in India and Indian companies in the US. Promoting trade is an important part of her mandate, but the mission encompasses building a strategic partnership between the U.S. and India to achieve common goals of driving economic growth, job creation, innovation, inclusion, and entrepreneurship.
A lawyer by training, Nivedita has spent the past fifteen years working across industry sectors in the US- India business corridor as well as on strategic relations between both countries. She established the first India office for the US-India Business Council in 2007 and served as it’s India Country Head until 2017– growing the organization and developing its on-ground presence. She built the Council’s strategic partnerships in India with the Government of India, US Embassy, industry associations across sector, civil society, educational and research institutions, and think tanks and supported members develop and execute their advocacy strategies.
Nivedita has been recognized many times over by both the U.S. and India governments for her significant work in supporting and growing the commercial and strategic partnership between the countries.
Nivedita holds a Bachelor’s degree with honors in international relations and political economics from Clark University, as well as a Bachelor of Law degree (LLB) from Delhi University Law School.
